With all the help that is available out there both the good and the bad, after much due deligence I decided for my self and behalf of my family that the individuals representing NPHS are both knowledgeable about my true options and looking out for the best interests of my family and that says a lot about the character and integrity they have. Hey Delphina,
The class was a great educational tool. It made you think what was really important. For example if you want a 3 bedroom home, 2 full baths, family room, two car garage, central air, a pool and tree line neighborhood. How much are you really willing to sacrifice and pay for those amenities. Not realizing you may not really be able to afford having all those amenities. You may have to settle for a simple 2 bedroom, one bath, one car garage and live in a safe neighborhood. It just depends on what is important to you at the time you decide to purchase a home. We also learned that your first home is usually not your dream home. It’s like the game Monopoly each time you buy you move to the next level.
Credit, we did not realized how your credit was so important. How it effects you purchasing a home or if you even able to purchase a home. The higher your credit score the better chance you have in getting a better pre-approve quote or a better interest rate. The do’s and don’ts about your credit. For example having high balances, paying off accounts, closing accounts, 30 60 90 days late, and bankruptcies. All these things effect you FICO score either negative or positive.
My husband and I thought the class was really educational and worth the whole 8 hour day.
P.S. I really like the bean game. LOL.

Hello Delphina.
I was so happy I attended Home Buyer Education class. I learned so much, and Delphina made is so much fun. I had no choice but to learn to determine my needs verses my wants!!! I did purchase a home, it’s a mobile but as I learned in class it’s a stepping stone. And you know what? “It’s mine” J Know I really understand the importance of credit and maintaining it, not to mention the importance of being financially literate.
